Rihanna Electrifies New York Fashion Week with Her Fenty x Puma Show

Leave it to Rihanna to get the party started. The Spring Summer 2018 Fenty x Puma show was a rocking affair that had critics, fashionistas and fans at the edge of their seats. Everything in the show from the sporty pieces to Rihanna’s Rockstar entry added the much needed adrenaline to this year’s New York Fashion Week.

The runway at Park Avenue Armory had pink colored dunes and three moto cross stuntmen doing spectacular 360 spins. The Barbados born star herself made quite an entry on the back of a biker, wearing an army green colored shirt with thumb hole sleeves, a vivid light green jacket wrapped around her waist and BMX inspired thigh high boots.

The collection carried the same energy as herself and can be considered a fusion of surfing and motocross. It was inspired mostly by the X Games and included some really cool pieces. There were biker shorts, jackets and even French cut bathing suits. The surf onesieswere paired with oversized nylon track pants, which is the best representation of her tomboy style at times. There were some skin hugging silhouettes as well which added a hint of sexy.

Slick Woods, who opened her last show in Paris, also walked the runway in loose thigh high boots that had had green and white accents making for a daring moto cross look. Diplo reportedly flew in a helicopter just for the show from a gig which after seeing the show makes sense as it was simply enthralling.

Rihanna also recently launched a makeup line for Fenty that is designed to suit all skin tones. Ever since Rihanna collaborated with Puma, her authority as a designer and a businesswoman has only gotten stronger. She knows what is going to work and what is in vogue but never shies away from giving it her own eccentric twist.

This collection is perfect for the gym, beach and of course surfing. Even the accessories like logo fanny packs look like they are going to do pretty well. With industrial zippers, mesh overlay and peekaboo lacing, Rihanna managed to make every little detail sporty and fun. It would not be a surprise to see the pieces get sold out in minutes when the collection hits stores next year.
