So when I decided to take a trip this year, I wanted to make sure that my winter gear is appropriate according to the areas I am going to visit. To create this winter wardrobe, I talked to different stylists and the local residents of the areas to prepare the list of winter gear and accessories to prevent frostbite and cold. So here is the list I have compiled of winter wardrobe according to different levels of winters around the world:

From 20 To 10 Degree Celsius

This temperature is called as moderate winter, it is the initial phase of winter when the wind becomes and dry and mornings become chilly. In most of the countries, the whole winter temperature does not very much. For this type of whether you need:

The sweatshirt is enough to ward off winter chills but if it windy then you can wrap a scarf around your neck for more warmth, you can swap your jeans with pants and trousers as well. You can also switch to sneakers and loafers instead of boots. If it gets chillier then you can top it off with lighter jackets and cardigans.

From 10 To 0 Degree Celsius

This is where it gets considerably cold and you get to follow onion rule. The onion rule is to layer the clothing so if it gets warms you can remove the outer layering and if it starts to get colder than you can add more layers. For this type of weather you require:

  • Jeans
  • High neck shirts

You can take off/on your trench coat, pea coat, cardigans, varsity jackets or any other coat depending if you are indoor or outdoor, you can again switch you jeans with formal pants, chinos, trousers and switch your sneakers with boots and water-resistant joggers if you are in the more rainy area.

From 0 to -10 Degree Celsius

It gets really cold when it dips down to 0, most of the European countries go below 0 in winters so if you have planned to travel to Europe then you must pack layers of clothing with you. Along sweaters, high necks, warm leggings, jeans, mufflers, knit caps and coats you must have leather or wool insulated jacket. For this particular winter outfit you will need:

  • Turtleneck sweater

From -10 to -20 Degree Celsius

This is where you get to wear puffer jackets and faux fur coats to keep hypothermia at bay. You need several layers of clothing underneath which serves as an insulator. You need at least three to four layers of clothing to sustain this type of weather. From puffer jackets to inners you should also wear knit caps and gloves to conserve heat as much as possible. For this particular outfit, you need
