International Women’s day—Celebrate it in the Most Phenomenal Way!

International Women’s Day started in 1908 when 15,000 garment workers in New York marched throughout the streets to record their protest against low wages, long working hours, and not capable of submitting against their inability to vote. However, in 1975, the United States decided to give official recognition to International Women’s Day. Started from United Nations, this day has been making mark in different countries. Now, Women’s Day is an official holiday in 27 countries: Afghanistan, Georgia, Armenia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Uganda, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Mongolia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar, Moldova, Montenegro, Nepal, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.Since then, this day has become more of an occasion where people and especially women celebrate their independence and rights.

With every passing year, women are getting more and more powerful and standing up for their rights. The struggle of women is becoming more and the recognition that they receive is definitely increasing its volume too. This women’s day the world is recognizing these women and lots more.

Malala Yousafzai: She didn’t only fight against the terrorism but also overcame like a lioness and published a bestseller. She stood for educational rights of women without any fear of Taliban and any other terrorism force.

Intihaj Muhammad: A girl from United States took part in women’s individual Sabre at Olympics 2016and became the first athlete to wear a hijab at the Games.

Adele: She snagged six Grammy Awards and became the star of the evening.

Diana Nyad: she became the first person who swam from Cuba to Florida; the unique part was that she didn’t use a shark tank.
